All debtors must complete a credit counseling course as a condition of filing any chapter in Bankruptcy. After taking the counseling course, debtors will be provided with a Certificate of Counseling. The Certificate of Counseling MUST be filed with your bankruptcy petition. Debtors are also required to take a budget and debt management course before receiving a discharge. There are a number of credit counseling agencies; however, one must be careful to use one that is approved by the Department of Justice (DOJ), US Trustee's Office. Prior to singing on with a particular credit counseling agency, confirm that they are approved by the DOJ. Daniels & Taylor is registered with Consumer Credit Counseling Service. If you use CCCS and you provide them with our Firm Code, CCCS will e-mail us a copy of your Credit Counseling Certificate. CCCS offers the credit counseling services on line. Other services may also offer credit counseling services on line.
