Child Custody & Modification Attorneys serving Forsyth County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County and Northeast Georgia
Parents believe it. So do we. Child custody is the most important issue in a divorce. Children are the innocent bystanders as a marriage falls apart. They are entitled to a peaceful and stable life following the divorce of their parents. We focus on both the rights of our clients and the best interests of their children.
At Daniels & Taylor, P.C., we help our clients secure both legal and physical custody of their children. Legal Custody gives them the rights and duties to decide matters related to healthcare, education, religion and overall welfare. Physical custody establishes where the children will live and sets the boundaries for parenting time.

Child Custody Mediation Versus Litigation
Your children should not be in the middle of a child custody dispute between you and your spouse. The separation of parents is traumatic enough without witnessing them waging war. We encourage all of our clients to find a middle ground and negotiate or mediate the disputes. If you and your spouse cannot agree on a child custody arrangement, we will not shy away from courtroom litigation.
Simply put, negotiation or mediation gives you control over the decisions. Having a judge make a determination on the matter is akin to relinquishing control of a very important decision. In either case it is important that you have an experienced attorney to advise you and present your case.
Child Custody Modification
Once a final order is entered in regard to custody of a child, custody can only be changed or modified if there has been a change in circumstances effecting the child. Once a change of circumstances is proven custody can be changed or modified base upon what is in the best interest of the child. Relocation of the custodial parent, election of a child age 14 or over, neglect, deprivation, abandonment, abuse, drug and alcohol use of a parent, and criminal conduct of a parent are all examples of a change of circumstances which could result in a modification of custody of children.
